The painter
Frédéric Givelet
His first profession, textile designer, can be found in the materials used. A chosen fabric is first painted, sometimes gilded, then intimately mixed with the subject. The same process is used with “prepared papers”, flat (or embossed) surfaces animated with a colored graphic structure.
Inspiration often comes from creating materials, to make the designed image more tactile. But the whole thing always goes through a subtle harmony of colors.
